ASUS Eee Pad MeMo 7-inch 3D IPS Tablet

Asus has been unveiling a few new innovation for the upcoming Trade Show in Taiwan which includes the Eee Pad MeMo that was first unveiled at the CES earlier this year but since then got a name change. Here is ASUS Eee Pad MeMo 7-inch 3D IPS Tablet which is an 3D display that doesn’t requires the use of 3D glasses for viewing. The glassless 3D IPS Display features a native resolution of 1280×800 resolution with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen like the HTC Flyer, can be used either with the finger or a special capacitive stylus. It will also be shipped with a pen with a rubber tip but no active digitizer as it is already built-in. Specs-wise we can expect includes a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Processor, there is the MeMic Bluetooth companion headset and a remote control that has a transparent LCD display that can be used to make calls and listen to music via the tablet. It is presently on showcase at the event being held in Taipei, Taiwan.
The 1024 x 600 display has, ASUS promises, the same broad viewing angles as we’re used to from other IPS tablets, except now you can enjoy 3D content too. It’s not the first tablet to make 3D its priority – the T-Mobile G-Slate does too – but unlike the LG-made G-Slate there are no silly glasses required.

No word on pricing or availability at this stage, but Android Honeycomb looks to be a lock-in and the 7-inch form-factor is a popular one among those looking for something more usable than a smartphone but not quite as unwieldy as a 10.1-inch tablet. We’ll update as we know more.
